To support these investors is Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk. Musk has been a longtime fan of DOGE and would love to see Coinbase support it. He also said that in a tweet when asked about the possibility.

Now Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) Users urge Coinbase to accept DOGE with a new hashtag campaign. This leads them to use the hashtag #adddogecointocoinbase to raise awareness of the crypto and ask Coinbase to add it to their platform.

Below are some examples of Twitter users who would like DOGE to be added to Coinbase.

While DOGE investors pushing for the cryptocurrency to be added to Coinbase are all well and good, there are no guarantees that it will happen. The crypto exchange didn’t specifically comment on the recent hashtag campaign, but it hasn’t taken any steps in the past to accept the digital asset on its platform.

DOGE got a big boost earlier this year when investors raised it from less than a cent to around 8 cents per token. Unfortunately, this momentum couldn’t last and the crypto fell back to around 5 cents. It’s been passed around mostly at that price since then, but it’s closer to sticking to almost 6 cents per token.

It’s worth noting this point that Dogecoin started out as a joke. The cryptocurrency was created in 2013 based on the popular Doge meme. Although it has grown strongly since then, it still cannot measure up to the competing cryptocurrencies.

DOGE was down 1.8% on Wednesday afternoon but is up 1,170% since the start of the year.

When the latest Dogecoin news isn’t down your alley, there is a ton of other crypto news to keep up with.

This includes messages from crypto mining companies like SOS Limited (NYSE:SOS), talking about a Bitcoin (CCC:BTC-USD) ETF and Ethereum (CCC:ETH-USD) reach a new milestone. Fortunately for investors, InvestorPlace.com has the latest on this crypto news item below.
